|Franca Armstrong – Associate Vice President of Workforce Development and Dean of Rome Campus, Mohawk Valley Community College: Franca sets the priorities and objectives and short and long term strategic planning for MVCC’s branch campus in Rome, NY and the non-credit Workforce Development activities of the College.She has been with MVCC for 16 years in various roles. Her immediate past role was Executive Director of Community and Workforce Development at Mohawk Valley Community College’s Center for Corporate and Community Education Department. Franca holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration and Policy Studies from SUNY Albany, a Bachelor Degree in Sociology/Anthropology from Utica College and an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts from MVCC.|
|Cory Albrecht – Director: Since 2007 Cory has been assisting manufacturers in the Mohawk Valley Region through the New York State Manufacturing Extension Partnership Program. This program provides manufacturing and technology development services to the small and medium sized manufacturers in Oneida, Herkimer, Fulton, Montgomery, Schoharie and Hamilton Counties. Currently, Cory is the Director of MVCC’s Advanced Institute for Manufacturing (AIM). In this role, Cory will be working with over 700 Mohawk Valley Regional manufacturers and helping them increase their competitiveness and grow their businesses. Cory is very active in advancing technology and developing ideas for new products and services throughout the region.|
|Theresa DaBiere-Craig – Business Development Manager: Theresa is the Business Development Manager for AIM in Fulton and Montgomery counties. Theresa is known for establishing partnershps and facilitating collaboration to successfully leverage resources in outcomes-based programs. She has designed and delivered management training to supervisors, managers, and leaders and has secured millions of dollars through grants to support recruitment, retention, and training of qualified workers.|
|Paul LaPorte – Cyber Security Coordinator: As an IT professional for 10 years, Paul has provided a variety of IT and Cyber Security solutions and training in the fields of engineering, manufacturing, education, commerce, insurance, and more. Paul has an A.S in Microcomputer Technologies: Technical Support and a B.S. in Network and Computer Security. Prior to joining AIM, Paul was the Interim Director of Information Technology at the Utica School of Commerce.|
Michael Marusic – Sr. Manufacturing Consultant: Michael has over 30 years of experience in manufacturing and quality. He brought his manufacturing expertise to Mohawk Data Science as a Test & Quality Engineer and has also worked at Trenton Technologies Inc., as a Quality Assurance Manager and ISO Management Representative. Michael is also a former adjunct instructor in the electronics program at Mohawk Valley Community College.
James Willey – AIM Coordinator of Workforce Development: James coordinates the funding for the SUNY Apprenticeship Program across New York State. The goal is to expand Registered Apprenticeship programs in NY by engaging small, medium and large employers to secure paid Registered Apprenticeships in high skilled, high demand and competitive wage occupations. Jeff Grimshaw – Business Development Manager: Some of the experience Jeff brings to his customer include having served as Director of the Oswego State University President’s Office of Business and Community Development. Jeff held leadership positions with the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office, retiring as Patrol Commander, and held the position of Executive Director of the Fulton YMCA and Executive Director of View Arts Center in Old Forge, New York. Jeff holds a degree in Public Administration from SUNY Empire State College. In his off time, Jeff provides consulting services through Jeffrey Grimshaw Consulting, LLC as a communication; leadership and management consult, serving clients in the for profit and nonprofit environment along with local, state and federal government agencies. He enjoys kayaking and hiking in the Adirondack Mountains.
Corinne Wilson – AIM Program Specialist: Corinne Wilson is the AIM Program Specialist in the Utica office with over 15 years of administrative and accounting experience. She is responsible for meeting regional workforce development needs by coordinating the development and delivery of educational programs along with a variety of administrative and management functions to assist the director with day-to-day operations. Corinne graduated Magna Cum Laude earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from SUNY Polytechnic Institute, an Associates in Applied Science Degree in Business Accounting and an Associates in Applied Science Degree in Business Administration from SUNY Rockland Community College.
Kyle Hawkins – AIM Coordinator of Workforce Development: Kyle serves as the Coordinator of Workforce Development within the specialized fields of Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, and Cybersecurity. Kyle has been a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor since 2014, and has provided counseling and career assessment services to a wide variety of clientele in search of gainful employment in California, Massachusetts, and New York. Kyle is a proud product of the SUNY system, graduating with his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University at Buffalo.
Matt Maloy – AIM Coordinator of Workforce Development: Matt has joined the AIM team to serve as Coordinator of Workforce Development. He has over 20 years’ experience as a mechanic, machinist, welder, and fabricator. He has also been an adjunct welding technology instructor at Mohawk Valley Community College for the past 10 years. Matt is a graduate of MVCC’s Machinist Technology and Welding Technology programs and has a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Technology Management from SUNY Alfred State.
